Our Story

Cotto Bend was born out of a love for arancini and New York-style Italian-American food inspired by James’ experience cooking in Italian restaurants in the Bay Area and co-owner Sarah’s upbringing in South Brooklyn, NY.

James Fink, a classically trained chef educated at the California Culinary Institute has more than 25 years under his belt with the first 15 in the Bay Area cooking for the likes of Paula La Duke, and Venezia, and teaching culinary school. In 2012, James moved to central Oregon to be closer to his family and joined the team at Jackson’s Corner as Head Chef. Later he continued to support the culinary visions at Brasada Ranch and Deschutes Brewery. In 2017, James and Sarah opened Wild Oregon Foods, a farm-to-table diner on Bend’s south end. James’ brother Michael joined them in this adventure and was the inspiration for creating an Italian Street Food concept food truck in Bend, Oregon.

Cotto is the second restaurant venture for this trio and we hope you’ll come visit us soon!
